Visionary Leader in Business and Philanthropy
Ron is the former President and Chief Executive Officer of the Gary-Williams Energy Corporation, an oil and gas company he owned with the late Sam Gary. That company’s community investment division, The Piton Foundation, supported nonprofits including the Colorado Children’s Campaign, Denver Preschool Program, Urban Land Conservancy and many others.
A leader in Colorado’s business, education, civic and philanthropic communities, Ron was inducted into the Colorado Business Hall of Fame in 2016, and was named Citizen of the West in 2022. Ron is the former chairman of the National Western Stock Show, and served on the Board of Directors for the Denver Public Schools Foundation for over a decade. Ron is also a lifetime member and past chairman of the Children’s Hospital Foundation, and co-chaired the capital campaign to successfully raise 250 million in private funds for the new state-of-the-art hospital at the Fitzsimmons campus.
In addition to his business ventures in Colorado, Ron owns and manages a 20,000 acre cow/calf operation in southern Kansas, and when not in Denver with his wife, kids and grandkids, likes to spend his time at the ranch getting his boots dirty.
